Donate now to fund The Armenian Weekly iPhone & iPad App, Special Issues and Hairenik Digitization Project
WATERTOWN, Mass.—The Hairenik Association kicked off its #SupportTheHairenik drive today to raise funds for “new media” projects. These funds will be used to support a mobile app for the Armenian Weekly, special magazine issues, and digitize select Hairenik Association publications.
The first project, The Armenian Weekly iPhone and iPad app, was recently released to the iTunes App Store. This native app allows users to easily access up to the minute breaking news, views and analysis in the palm of their hand. An Android version is set to be released later this year.
The two upcoming special issues provide a closer look at the current state of Artsakh 25 years after independence, and the First Independent Republic of Armenia.
The digitization project is the first effort to digitize select works from vast array of archives of the Armenian Weekly, the Hairenik Weekly and Hairenik Press. The goal is to make these works available on-demand for current and future generations.
“We continue to build upon and expand our operations with these new initiatives both in print and online. The coming year will witness more special issues and magazines, greater online presence, and the publication of a series of e-books,” said Armenian Weekly editor Khatchig Mouradian. “As always, we rely on our readers and supporters to help us grow and serve our readers better,” he added.
The Hairenik Association needs you support to make this effort a reality. Please make your donation at www.armenianweekly.com/donate today!
